does it have backlit keyboard?
- @jacobmt77 Apr 24
depends on config, mine does
trackpoint still weirdly fun to use
dropped it once and it didn’t even dent
Great so far. First L-series purchase after many years with T models.
Lenovo doesn't disappoint with the ThinkPad L15. I use a Lenovo for work and love the speed.
screen’s not super bright but gets the job done
office tank. not pretty but it just works
perfect for work-from-home grind
runs cool under load?

Highlights and Advantages
- Robust build quality and durability, typical of the ThinkPad line.
- Reliable performance for everyday tasks and some professional applications.
- Good battery life for a laptop of this size and power.
Similars
- HP EliteBook 840 G9: Often offers slightly better battery life and a more modern design.
- Dell Latitude 5530: May have a brighter display and a wider range of configuration options.
- Lenovo ThinkPad T15 Gen 4: Usually features a more premium build and more powerful components, but at a higher price point (this comparison ignores price as requested).
What You Need to Know Before Buying
Before purchasing a laptop like the ThinkPad L15 Gen 4, consider the following technical aspects:
- Processor and RAM: Determine the processing power needed for your tasks. More RAM will improve multitasking capabilities. Check the specifications carefully to ensure they meet your needs.
- Storage: Decide between SSD and HDD storage based on speed requirements and budget. SSD offers significantly faster performance. Consider the storage capacity needed for your files and applications.
- Operating System: Verify the operating system (Windows 10 or 11) included is compatible with your software and preferences.
Extra Tips
- Check reviews focusing on specific configurations, as performance can vary.
- Consider the warranty options available to protect your investment.
- Look for deals on certified refurbished units for potential cost savings (again, price is not considered in this analysis).
- Assess your connectivity needs (ports, Wi-Fi, etc.) to ensure compatibility with your peripherals.
- Think about the weight and size; a 15-inch laptop may be too large or heavy for some users.
Level up your savings. It's free.
