Why buy: Hailed as the "True AAAA Pirate Experience," Windrose (formerly Crosswind) has officially docked in Early Access today, April 14, 2026! This PvE survival-crafting odyssey blends the nautical freedom of Black Flag with the biome-progression loop of Valheim. Activates in your region.
i dont care what anyone says the ship combat is doing heavy lifting here the moment you line up a cannon shot and board another ship it just clicks feels cinematic without trying too hard
yeah but boarding is still a bit janky sometimes enemies just stand there like they forgot they’re supposed to fight back and other times they go full demon mode and wipe your crew instantly
when it works though?? cinema had a storm fight where waves were tossing both ships around and we were missing shots like idiots felt straight up cinematic
my only gripe is upgrades arent explained properly i added some parts thinking id turn into a speed demon and my ship still moves like its carrying emotional baggage
ngl i went in expecting one of those pay now maybe fun in 2028 situations but this actually kinda slaps already its rough yeah, but not in a broken way more like chaotic systems barely holding together but somehow working
thats the thing its janky but in a charming way like you can feel the game fighting itself sometimes but instead of being annoying it creates these weird emergent moments
