just wrapped up a second playthrough and honestly, the pacing still blows me away, the way the platforming, powers, and puzzles stack on each other is ridiculously satisfying. you can feel yourself getting better, not just sargon. I do agree that backtracking can be annoying, though sometimes I dreaded hiking all the way back across the map just to grab one upgrade
@John7419 great game but definitely not flawless, I think the praise for the visuals is earned, but there are moments where the AA budget pops through. a few animations feel stiff and some areas look noticeably older than others. still, for $20? an easy recommend
@John7419 immortal difficulty has been a blast for me, it forces u to engage with the amulet system instead of ignoring it like in most metroidvanias. but yeah… those mid-boss gauntlets with no retry option are brutal. dying and then running the same corridor again gets old fast
@John7419 the soundtrack deserves WAY more credit. it perfectly matches the supernatural-meets-persian aesthetic. some tracks gave me literal chills going into boss fights
@John7419 the story was the one thing I didnt vibe with, its totally serviceable, but you can see every plot twist coming a mile away, i wasnt expecting prestige writing, but I did hope for something a little less saturday morning cartoon
@John7419 platforming is the MVP here, it hits that sweet spot between challenging and fair… until the very end where it spikes a bit. but when you nail a long chain of moves without touching the ground? peak gaming adrenaline
@John7419 the combat starts strong but ends up feeling way too easy, once you stack the amulets that boost damage and defense, you’re basically unstoppable, bosses look intimidating but melt fast. i wish there were more late-game enemies that punished sloppy button mashing
