how's combat? difficult? i also wanna know, how long is the game?
@ParrotOfTheOutlet3837 kinda, very soulslike... not long, depends on your pace u can stretch it out if you explore everything
has anyone tried drova forsaken kin as a gothic fan? how was it?
@Sparrow4000 i’m a longtime gothic fan and drova definitely scratches that itch. its honestly impressive how much they pulled off for such a young studio. the atmosphere and world logic feel very gothic-inspired, even if the 2D perspective takes a bit of getting used to
@Dave_nyc 100% agreed, gothic’s world design leans so much on vertical exploration, and drova intentionally stays flat. that was the biggest thing that threw me off, that and some writing that felt a little too “edgy teenager” at times
@Dave_nyc i’m usually allergic to 2D/top-down visuals, but drova won me over. if you like gothic’s structure, factions, and progression, its honestly worth pushing past the camera angle. the bones of gothic are all there (and yes, i think the demo is still floating around somewhere)
@Sparrow4000 its a good game. i finished it recently and had a good time, but calling it a masterpiece is a bit for me. fun, yes, but life changing, definitely no
@Sparrow4000 played drova, liked drova… and immediately ended up in a gothic relapse that took me through gothic 1, gothic 2, archolos, and then risen. so yeah, no complaints, just a massive nostalgia chain reaction
@Sparrow4000 absolutely worth it! the mood, the pacing, the faction system, everything feels like someone modernized the gothic formula without losing its allure
@Sparrow4000 finished two full playthroughs and platinumed it. its that addictive, already planning a third run once i’m finished with kingdom come 2 lol
@freefall agree! its legitimately great. u can tell the devs deeply understood what made gothic so memorable. it even inherits gothics flaws: slightly weaker final chapter and a ton of side quests early on, still, the faction paths make the whole thing super replayable
