the only thing giving me pause is newegg’s combo return policy if the board is DOA or the RAM’s flaky, you’re stuck returning everything that feels risky, especially with ITX where troubleshooting is harder
that fear is valid but in practice newegg has been better lately as long as you test immediately i always breadboard combos the day they arrive. if anything’s wrong you’ll know within 48 hours the horror stories usually involve people sitting on parts for weeks
@Ryle47 Honestly this is one of the few combos where Id actually risk it both parts are mainstream, well reviewed and not exotic. Its not like pairing some no name RAM with a sketchy board revision
exactly if this was a weird off brand XMP kit? hard pass here the risk is pretty controlled
can we talk about the ram for a second? CL38 at 6000 isnt exactly impressive, and TeamGroup feels like one of those brands thats either totally fine or a disaster depending on the IC lottery id hate to buy the combo just to swap the memory later
i get the concern, but this specific kit is boring in a good way you not buying it to chase timings you buying it because it works. on AM5 boring RAM is underrated. you can always tighten timings manually if you care but for most people plug and play EXPO stability is the win
exactly people obsess over CL36 vs CL38 and then spend weeks troubleshooting boot loops id rather lose 1–2% theoretical performance and actually use my pc
if you were to buy equivalent rAM separately, you’re already close to the combo price the value here isnt elite RAM” is no-drama RAM
