i randomly saw this Luigi & Mach 8 set and didnt realize lego was going this big with the mario kart stuff now $180 for a mario kart set feels like they aiming at adult collectors instead of kids
thats definitely the trend with lego lately a lot of the bigger licensed sets are clearly designed for adults who grew up with the games
also mario kart is one of those franchises where people have nostalgia going back like 20+ years
exactly someone who played mario kart on the N64 is now in their 30s or 40s with disposable income
which is basically lego’s dream customer
