apr 07i used to think the autorun thing made it too simple but after a while i realized the game is actually about timing not movement you basically optimizing jumps instead of controlling direction
yeah its more like a rhythm game than a platformer if you think about it once you star chaining wall jumps and spins it feels surprisingly technical
i dont know i still feel like it removes too much control half the fun of mario for me is exploring and messing around and here you just constantly being pushed forward
everyone talks about the main levels but Toad Rally is what kept me playing there’s something weirdly addictive about competing against other players’ runs and trying to out style them
same especially when you start understanding how the crowd system works its not just about finishing fast its about impressing the Toadsh tat changes how you approach every jump
@LukeLuke i used to ignore that mode completely then one day i tried it and suddenly i was grinding tickets like crazy its way more competitive than it looks
the only thing i dont like is when you lose a rally and your toads leave your kingdom it feels a bit punishing for whats supposed to be a fun side mode
